To ensure holistic development of students through the medium of sports and physical activity
The department of Physaical Education is established in the year 1946. To enhance the physical and mental potentials of talented students the department always rendered apt formative measures during all these years. The department activities entered into a more active mode with the leadership of Smt Geetha Benedict. In 2004, we were the receipiants of the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Trophy for the best college in Kerala. The main events we attend to are Khabadi, Power lifting, Weight lifting, judo, yoga, khokho, Sepaktakraw, Swimming, Hockey, etc. We brought out 20 internationals to the field of sports and games.
We crowned as Best Women’s College for four times who excel in sports and games in University of Calicut. Department introduced All Kerala Inter collegiate hockey championship, Marian Cup in 2014. Hosting the same for past four years our college won the championship for the fourth consecutive year. Apart from this our college hockey team clinches three South Zone Inter Collegiate Championship organized by UC College, Aluva in a row. Department initiated to develop physical fitness for both students and staff launched Health Hub, Zumba fitness and Yoga. Faculty member and students actively participating for the same. Yoga team of our college organizes special yoga session in connection with International Yoga Day on June 21st.
