The mission is to push the boundaries of creativity and technology to deliver dynamic and engaging content across various industry platforms. Through a combination of innovative design, storytelling, and seamless integration of multimedia, we aim to captivate audiences, evoke emotions, and inspire action.

St. Mary’s College, Thrissur introduce a Skill oriented, UGC Aided Scheme - Bachelor of Vocational Degree (B. Voc). Department of Vocational studies (B. Voc) was established on 30th October 2014 with two Programs: B. Voc Software Development and B. Voc Multimedia. The journey was started with 29 Software Development and 20 Multimedia students.

Initially these courses were started by the UGC Sponsored Program to meet the growing demand for Software Development and Multimedia graduates in the era of organizational automation processes. To integrate NSQF within the undergraduate level of higher education in order to enhance employability of the graduates and meet industry requirements. Such graduates apart from meeting the needs of local and national industry are also expected to be equipped to become part of the global workforce. We have potential resources such as LAB, Faculties, Experts and Industrial Partners of the existing programs. We know that now India is smart everywhere like smart cities, smart companies, smart classes, smart innovations etc. Thus it is obvious that the courses in B. Voc will provide placements in various IT sectors. Within this period many of our students are placed in several reputed institutions as well as MNCs.

The Department could also organize various seminars, workshops and invited talks both for students and teachers, in and out of the college during this period. Each individual student of the department is molded with the specially designed curricular and co-curricular activities such as in-house projects, research activities such as paper presentations and publications, career guidance programs, industrial visits, placement training and interviews, life guidance classes, mentoring sessions etc that keep them moving closer to their goals.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched a scheme on skills development based higher education as part of college/university education, leading to Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) Degree with multiple exits such as Diploma/Advanced Diploma under the NSQF. The B.Voc. program is focused on universities and colleges providing undergraduate studies which would also incorporate specific job roles and their NOSs along with broad based general education. This would enable the graduates completing B.Voc. to make a meaningful participation in accelerating India’s economy by gaining appropriate employment, becoming entrepreneurs and creating appropriate knowledge.
